RE Assessments: The new 2024 Assessments have been published to our Website as of today August 6, 2024. If your property received only a county factor, you will not receive a notice in the mail. If your property did not have a change in value, you will not receive a notice. The notices should be mailed August 5th 2024 dated August 7th 2024. The deadline to file a formal appeal with the Will County Board of Review is September 9, 2024.

If you have any questions about your assessment or exemptions and need clarification please call our office. If you feel your assessment is incorrect, we are always willing to discuss the assessment without a formal appeal. Please feel free to visit our office located at 175 W Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL 60432. You may also reach us by phone at (815) 726-5446 or email us at [email protected]

RE Exemptions: Recently created Public Act 102-895 makes changes to a couple homestead exemption amounts, but only in the Collar Counties (DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will); and the new exemption amounts will NOT BE ON TAX BILLS UNTIL 2024. For Joliet Township residents, the General Homestead Exemption will increase from 6,000 to 8,000. Additionally, the Senior Citizen Homestead Exemption will increase from 5,000 to 8,000. Both increases will be for the 2023 assessment year payable in 2024.

Reminder: our PIN numbers begin with 30-07. If yours does not fall in this category, your property is not located in Joliet Township and would be under another Will County Township jurisdiction.
